Website Management
In my three years with Amalgam, I have overseen an increase of 160% in website turnover (now in excess of £1 million), a tripling of total orders, a 45% increase in website traffic and 75% increase in conversion. I have varied experience managing different CMOs including, Shopify, Wordpress, Umbraco and Wix, as well as analytics and CRM/Email software, namely Google Analytics, Klaviyo and Campaign Monitor.


Problem Solver
Throw me a problem and I won't stop until I discover a solution. Day to day examples include fixing website glitches, resolving miscommunications between colleagues, answering customer enquiries, hunting down fraudulent websites and examining potential consistencies in car models against their real world counterparts.
Ideas Generator
Tied into my problem solving capabilities, I like to not just think outside of the box but to consider whether the box itself is actually a box. A researcher at heart, I can take inspiration from any source to generate ideas to suit every budget.


Social Media Management
Leading the social media strategy at Amalgam, I have overseen an 200% increase in followers on our primary social platform Instagram. As a social user in personal and commercial capacity, I have an intimate understanding of different platforms, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest in particular.
Graphic Design
Daily examples are plentiful and include: print, digital and video ads; photo composite work; logo and branding creation; product contribution through packaging, certificates of authenticity and title plaques; email templates; and website design. I am well versed in the Adobe Suite and am particularly proficient in the use of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.


Detail Orientated
I have a deep hatred of typos (especially if I have written them) and so must eradicate them wherever possible. Whilst I know it is impossible to spot everything, I have several techniques to give tasks my undivided attention and catch mistakes, errors or changes before they snowball.
Critical Analyst
I've always liked data - it's also aligned well with my analytical mindset. I want to be informed and, while my gut feelings are usually correct, I prefer the confirmation of data-based decision-making. I challenge ideas and assumptions, including my own, to ensure that strategies align with reality.


Copywriting
Give me the right subject matter, and I can write for days. I wish I was joking - I have written, edited and compiled at least 150,000 words in my time at Amalgam. Copywriting to me is to convey information or emotion, whether that is in a press release, product description, website and newsletter content, advertisement, social media or blog post, video script, or a sustainability policy, all of which I have produced.
Management
I have several years experience as a manager. I oversaw a team of ten whilst at Caffè Nero and have created and lead the team at Amalgam. I pride myself on not being a stereotypical leader, instead my style is much more personal and collaborative. I believe my team will perform to their best when they feel valued and supported. My aim is to help nurture future leaders who will go on to value and support their own teams.


For most things, I have a surprisingly strong and varied general knowledge. For everything else, I am a very skilled Googler. At Amalgam, I feel I have excelled at achieving significant results with minimal resources. It may be my upbringing in Germany but I have a great love of efficiency and will always optimise my resources to the maximum.
Strategic Thinker
I am a born strategic thinker - I literally play city planning and civilisation building games in my spare time. My mind is my superpower (though I'd prefer invisibility) and I am always thinking beyond the situation in front of me. I seek the opinions of others to gain further viewpoints and continually expand my understanding of a topic and its context.


Photography
A keen photographer, I feel it helps me look at the world differently. My abilities have made me a key asset in content creation: I have experience in product (studio and location), lifestyle, sport, event and still life photography. I am skilled at photo editing and correction, shoot concept planning, and have a strong knowledge of studio equipment and lighting. I am currently learning more about video capture and editing.
Versatility
I consider myself an all-rounder and am willing and able to turn my hand to almost anything to achieve success. Having previously worked in the retail, hospitality, charity, private education and automotive sectors in paid and voluntary employment, I have a variety of experiences to call upon. I am currently learning Italian and German and it's this natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge that I feel makes me an invaluable part of any team.
