In collaboration with Mitch Payne Photography
We recently dispatched a few of our most exciting 1:8 scale models to photographer Mitch Payne in London for a studio photoshoot. Mitch reproduced his modern signature style of shooting, with plenty of bold colour, high contrast and interesting shapes, ensuring our models look every bit as stunning in these composites as their real-life counterparts. Explore the full shoot, plus some behind the scenes imagery, on our website through the link below. Our thanks go to Mitch, an experienced professional who has previously partnered with Formula E, GQ and British Vogue among others, for these wonderful images of our models. McLaren Ultimate Vision GT
A low-key, emotional setup was established for our model of the McLaren Ultimate Vision Grand Turismo, perfectly complementing the car's Noir de Noir livery. The dark setting accentuates the car's many textures and form. Atmospheric smoke adds some texture to the background, really differentiating the car from the backdrop and spotlighting the model's sleek, aerodynamic lines. Intelligent use of red and blue lighting brings the image to life, drawing your attention to key features of the model, or pulling your eye across the many details. Originally just a video game concept, the Vision GT has since been translated almost directly into the new McLaren Solus GT; this photoshoot pays tribute to the intersection of fantasy and reality that generated the new limited-edition hypercar.

Mercedes-AMG ONE
Mitch has produced a lot of work with an emphasis on shapes, and showcases this beautifully with our 1:8 scale model of the Mercedes-AMG ONE. The combination of cubes and the injection of abstract light sources give a modern reference to cubist art, and yet retain the feeling of sleek modernism to compliment the subject. The simple geometric shapes also pays homage to the function over form style of Bauhaus, and to the design philosophies that guided the Mercedes-AMG ONE project.

Red Bull RB16B
Max Verstappen's 2021 FIA Formula 1 World Championship winning Red Bull Racing Honda RB16B was captured against a utilitarian backdrop, allowing sole focus on the subject. Using graphic contrast between shadows and harsh light, as well as the subtle addition of coloured lighting, Mitch also emphasises the car's finer details and sharp angles, drawing attention to the distinctive livery.
